Dentons Patent Attorneys Australasia continues to expand its market leading Australasian Patents team with the hire of new Special Counsel and Patent Attorney Fidel Dela Paz.

Based in the Sydney, Fidel will offer further expertise and specialised skills to Dentons' Australasian Patents team which operates from Sydney in Australia, and Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand.

Fidel brings over 20 years of experience in the Intellectual Property (IP) field as a patent and trade mark attorney. Registered in both Australia and New Zealand, he has extensive expertise across various aspects of the profession, including drafting patent specifications, prosecuting patent applications in Australia, the USA, Europe, and Asia, providing patent validity and infringement opinions, conducting trade mark searches, filing trade mark applications, and providing advice on design applications and filing.

Throughout his career, Fidel has worked across a range of sectors including construction, FMCG, mining, medical apparatus, and energy. His deep understanding of IP strategy, trade mark searches, designs, and commercialisation, combined with his clear and straightforward communication style, makes him an ideal addition to our Australasian Patents team.
