This platinum agreement means that the firm are sponsoring the conference’s keynote speaker The Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Sir Peter Coulson, Deputy Head of Civil Justice, London.

The theme of the conference is "Building for Change", which is highly relevant across the globe and in particular the Asia-Pacific region. Many factors such as who is responsible for the funding of large scale infrastructure projects, the impact of the continual adoption of emerging technologies and the impact of climate change are felt particularly in this region. In light of these factors the conference will focus on construction law as it relates to contracts, negligence, product liability and dispute resolution through keynote and specialist presentations along with two streams of plenary sessions over two days.

Auckland was chosen to host the 2020 conference this year, as the city is currently experiencing unprecedented growth with large infrastructure projects such as the City Rail Link and Commercial Bay projects, both of which are currently under construction.
