IP STARS is an exclusive rankings publication. It does not rank all firms and practitioners offering IP services, but only those outstanding in their field. The research for IP STARS covers a variety of IP practice areas, contentious and non-contentious work and more than 70 jurisdictions, making it the most comprehensive and widely respected IP guide in the legal profession. The research is conducted by an experienced team of research analysts in the Managing IP offices in Hong Kong, London, and New York.
IP STARS also recognises practitioners who are highly regarded by their peers and/or clients or those that are integral to their firm’s success or reputation. There are two distinct rankings for individuals in private practice. These are IP Star (including. Patent Star and Trade Mark Star) and Rising Star.
The Top 250 Women in IP List is a special publication, launched in 2013, that recognises some of the senior female IP practitioners in private practice who have performed exceptionally for their clients and firms in the past year.
Jenni Rutter truly deserves this recognition. She has more than two decades working with blue chip organisations on cross-border IP enforcement matters. Clients describe her as “by far the most impressive external lawyer I work with” also noting that “she is the kind of external lawyer that you dream of – she is hugely supportive of our in-house team, not only in responding to our requests for expert advice, but in sharing market intel and signaling developments that are occurring across the market that can assist our broader business strategy, as well as co-building strategy with us.”
Charlotte Henley gains high praise from her clients. Clients have noted, “From the outset, Charlotte has been approachable, friendly, and tactical. Her level of professionalism is outstanding even when dealing with non-legal commercial-based questions, while providing overarching solutions and outcomes that are beneficial and legally sound, and ultimately protect the business.” Charlotte is a commercial IP lawyer and is responsible for managing the international trade mark portfolios of a range of organisations, as well as being sought out by many large government entities for her strategic advice.
Managing IP is the only B2B site uncovering in-house intellectual property strategy and distilling it into actionable intelligence for lawyers globally. They publish several surveys each year that include exclusive data focusing on specific industry issues.
